What to Expect
Studio Sessions
In the comfortable and informal studio Maria is able to create anything from the classic style portrait against a white or black background to something a little more interesting and imaginative for models etc. With the latter in mind, Maria has added her own artistic flair to the studio in the creation of unique individual backdrops generally for use in model and performer portfolios, but can be applied for personal portraits too.
Please note studio capacity is limited to groups and families members of no more than five.
A normal portrait session will usually last up to 1 hour. All sessions are by appointment only and pricing information is available on request.
For your photo session you are welcome and encouraged to bring along any props or accessories that you feel will help personalise your images, and a change of outfit; it's amazing how subtle differences can make a huge impact on the finished result.
Maria also loves to work on location where the session is usually more relaxed and informal. Perhaps you have a beautful garden or live near a park or woodland, whatever the location, session times are usually arranged to take advantage of the best lighting conditions to help achieve the most flattering images naturally, for your perfect portrait, as well as, of course taking into account your preference.
Prior to your portrait session we will assess together the type of images you have in mind and Maria will be happy to provide guidance regarding clothing, location, time of day to shoot and other details to create the perfect setting.
Pet Portraits - 'Dog Days' a Speciality
Animal photography has always been high on Maria's agenda due to her genuine love and interest in dogs, cats, horses and wildlife in general. In fact, Maria could not feel more at home than when in the company of her furry friends. Through the rapport she finds with her subjects she endeavours to capture their unique characteristics and spirit; with this in mind she allows plenty of time for them to become accustomed to and feel at ease with her during any given shoot.

PR Headshots
Whether you're embarking on or already in the modelling or entertainment industries or need PR/Corporate images for your business, it is essential to have professional promotional portraits. Whether for job applications or publicity materials, LMP offers a competitively priced professional service . A short session will provide you with three finished images (available in colour or black and white) on CD for your convenience for your on-going and unlimited printing or internet purposes. Your name can be overlaid onto your images for ease of identification (ie. if your photo gets separated from your application, your photo will always identify who you are).
Portfolios
Whether wanting to get into modelling, updating your existing portfolio, or simply for your own personal reasons, Maria can create a fresh portfolio for you in the studio and/or on location. The finished portfolio can be presented digitally, in a stunning beautiful album, on canvas or as wall art - there is a great choice. Details of the various packages are available on request, and each session can be 'tailor-made' to your own individual requirements.
Boudoir

After The Shoot
Whatever Package you choose, a private on-line gallery is at your fingertips for quick and easy access to view your proof images, however for family and pet portraits an 'in person' viewing is highly recommended to see your pictures come to life. Images will usually be available to view about a week following your sitting, and you can then make your selections and discuss the final presentation requirements with myself or simply go ahead and order on-line. You will receive your gallery password via email or text when your images are ready to view.
The additional beauty of on-line viewing is that other family members or friends may order additional prints and products on-line also.
At Lace Market Photography there is no hard sell and no hidden charges. Rather than the lure of a "bargain" sitting fee, followed by the pressure sell and excessive prices after sting, I charge a realistic portrait fee which covers the shoot time, post processing and viewing, and also includes complimentary images depending on the package bought. To be honest I'd rather be upfront about my services and costs before hand; I'm not in the bargain basement, conveyabelt photography game, and neither will you need to extend your credit rating or mortgage to have beautiful photography in your home. All my frames and other presentation products are competitively priced.
PHOTO FINISH
As a professional photographer there is nothing more pleasing than seeing a client's images presented in the best way possible which is why we offer a bespoke framing, canvas, acrylics, album and personalised book service. With the best will in the world a photograph is not going to look wonderful simply slotted into a factory produced off-the-shelf frame; there is a skill in making an image look fabulous on your wall. So with the emphasise on the perfect presentation of your portraits we don't promote print only orders, but we do still offer them; this combined with being a small business means that we have put a minimum 'print only' order clause in our service details for 2011. Therefore there is now a minimum 'print only' order value of £50.
I only use a top quality processing lab, and quality professional framers where each item is hand finished with attention to detail.
Bespoke orders for multiple image selections can also be catered for - ask for a quote. Samples of mounts, frames and other products are available to view in the studio to aid you in your final decision of finished presentation of your photographs.
